15.02.07 TO Partners and potential partners
From the President of ECOVAST www.ecovast.org

Dear Colleague,
ASSET (Action to Strengthen Small European Towns)
Project Proposal - Partners

Following the first meeting in Brussels of the Organising Group for our ASSET Project, we are about to approach international foundations. The OG will meet next on 30 March, In Lisbon.
Two main partners, ECOVAST and APURE are Europe-wide membership organisations, recognised by the European Commission. We have financial support for our start-up year from partners SEEDA and CRC, both based in England.
Those Foundations with a focus on funding to assist localities in wider Europe, and particularly central and eastern Europe, will look for proof that there really is both need and demand in other parts of Europe than the UK.
May we, therefore, request that you and/or your organisation would consider agreeing to allow your names to appear in the document drafted below?
We would not expect any payment at this time, but we would hope that you might join as Partners later, when significant funding is raised from foundations and other sources.
Partners of the Project would normally contribute 2000 euro each year for three years.
Paragraph 8 of the attached draft identifies the Partners and Potential partners.

We intend, also, later in 2007, to make a proposal under a pan-European programme the European Union, Territorial Cooperation Objective of Structural Funds (informally referred to as INTERREG IV) and are considering strands of the ASSET Project that could seek funding from other EU programmes such as URBACT2, ICT, COST and LIFELONG LEARNING. For those purposes a different version of the Project Proposal will be required to satisfy the different criteria.
Please would you return the form below to confirm your involvement?

I would appreciate a reply by 7 March 2007.

I hope that you will join us in this important project.

Yours sincerely,

Phil Turner
